Naruto and Boruto are not the same

Hello everyone, I hope y’all are doing great.

So, the title seems a bit obvious. I mean Naruto is Naruto and Boruto is Boruto, right? Then what is the point of  this blog?

Well, it is obvious, however there are Naruto fans who hate Boruto because they do not understand this. So, this blog is just an explanation of the difference between these two.

Naruto is the son of late fourth hokage Minato. The Naruto series began with Naruto being not so good in controlling his powers, yes he was overpowered since the beginning, it's just that he didn't knew how to control it. He was overpowered, just not very skilled. He was an orphan who had no friends and the whole village hated him. With time, he earned friends, worked hard, became skilled as well as much more powerful with time and eventually became a hero that everyone admire. He was everything someone would have expected him to be as the main character, I not so powerful character who had nothing but worked hard, formed bonds and not just became a hero but also earned everyone's heart. This is what Naruto fans watched and became Naruto fans.

Let's now come to Boruto. Boruto is the son of the seventh hokage Naruto. That is, just like Naruto, Boruto is also son of the hokage. Unlike Naruto, Boruto doesn't seem to have as much power as Naruto did at the beginning, however he is talented. He had no clue about the written Gennin Exams being a test of their ability to cheat, did his exams on his own and still scored a full score. He had lots of friends, had a family, loved by the villagers. He had everything that Naruto didn't at his age. Yes he was lazy because he never really had to work hard to achieve anything, but whatever he achieved back then he did it on his own. But is was lazy indeed. He is everything that Naruto isn't and as a result people started hating Boruto. I mean he has everything, he doesn't need to earn anything, right? Then what's the point of the series?

The point is that Boruto is not Naruto. Stop expecting Boruto to be like Naruto. His story is somewhat different and in a way much more tragic than that of Naruto. Naruto had nothing but earned everything. On the other hand, Boruto had everything. That also mean that he had a risk of losing much more and indeed he lost everything. Just think about it, everyone who knows and loves you suddenly going after you treating you as if they never knew you. Now that due to Eida's powers people's memories of Boruto and Kawaki are swapped, Boruto Uzumaki has become Boruto, an outsider who killed the seventh hokage. the whole world will now be against him, trying to kill him. His sister, his master, his friends are all against him. Even Mitsuki, the last person one would expect to go after Boruto is using sage transformation to kill him. He literally has nothing left. Naruto had nothing to begin with, he had nothing to lose in the beginning, he grew up between people who hated him, but Boruto grew up in an environment where people loved and respected him and suddenly they all want him dead, that too for something that he didn't even do. Naruto is the story of a kid, a loser, who had nothing but he won everyone's heart and became a hero. Boruto is the story of a super talented, powerful and loved kid, who also won hearts of many and then lost everything he had.

Some believe that Kawaki is Naruto who went dark path while Boruto is Sasuke who fought for good. While it does seems that way, it  a bit different. Boruto, just like Naruto, is a vessel for a monster. A monster who wants to take control over his body, however Kurama was just a tailed beast who had a lot of frustration due to the negativity from mankind that he faced after the  demise of Hagoromo. Momoshiki is an alien who have destroyed several planets, devoured their  life force, potentially used several vessel in the past and took over their bodies just to stay immortal, gain the strengths of his vessel, and became much more powerful without working much hard. The seal used to seal Kurama within Naruto was just to keep Kurama sealed withing Naruto. Kama is not like this seal, it takes over the host's body eliminating the victim's soul itself. He intended to do the same  with Boruto too. He did it to save himself and revive him using the body of the one who killed him. Boruto died once just to prevent his revival and while Momoshi had to use the remaining 20% of his data in Kama to revive him. Momoshiki can't revive him completely using Boruto's body, however he can still take control over it. Kurama watched Naruto while he was winning the hearts of other  Tailed Beasts and felt happy while what made Momoshiki happy was seeing Boruto lose everything. Kurama was a good character who was just frustrated due to the hatred he got. Momoshiki on the other hand seems to be pure evil who loves watching people's pain and suffering. Fighting the whole world on his own something that potentially wear off Boruto after which he might indeed surrender the control to Momoshiki.

Naruto had to fight broken hero while Boruto have to fight everyone as well as the evil alien sealed withing him who is just enjoying his time watching Boruto's sorrow. He can't even join Kara as he and Kawaki are both Kara's target. Code hated both Boruto and Kawaki and now that the memories have been swapped, for him Boruto would be the one who killed Ishhiki.

So why watch/read Boruto? What is it all about? Boruto is a story of a broken hero. A hero who once smiled and helped so many people. A hero who stood for his brother. A hero who lost everything by the hands of the same brother who he stood for. A hero whose loved ones turned against him. He is different from the broken heroes in Naruto. He is the hero who is broken from within but is still trying to stand up.
