Red Ribbon Army Saga consist of four arcs
  • Red Ribbon Army Arc
  • General Blue Arc
  • Commander Red Arc
  • Fortuneteller Baba Arc
In this blog, I am going to share my experience with the first arc of this saga (third arc of the series).

Summary

So, after the end of the tournament, Goku left in his Kinto-un in search of his grandfather's dragon ball. Along the way, he helps Namu (Goku's opponent in semifinals of  the tournament)  and his village for getting a good source of water. Goku then continued his journey in search of the four star dragon ball that his grandfather gave him. Meanwhile, Emperor Pilaf also continues his search for the dragon balls. The Dragon Ball ends up in Mount Fry Pan where Gyumao and Chichi are  preparing for welcoming Goku as well as for the preparation of Chichi and  Goku's wedding ceremony. While Emperor Pilaf gets close to getting his hands on six star dragon ball, the Red Ribbon Army attacks and almost puts an end to Gyumao, however Goku arrives on time. Later the Red Ribbon Army defeats Emperor Pilaf and get their hands on six star dragon ball, destroying Goku's Kinto-un in the process. Later, Goku confronts Colonel Silver and easily defeats him, also getting the six star dragon ball in the process. In search of the next ball, Goku crash lands in Jingle Village where  he gets rescued by a girl named Suno. After learning about the Red Ribbon Army, Goku leaves for Muscle Tower in order to rescue the village chief. In the process, Goku faces several strong opponents and also befriends Android 8 and names him Hachan. Hachan is a strong yet non-violent cyborg that helped Goku to get to the  top of the tower. Here, Goku manages to defeat General White and rescues the Village Chief. Hachan decides to stay in Jingle Village and Giku gets a new Kinto-un. The Dragon Radar seemed to have stopped working, therefore Goku decides to visit Bulma to have it repaired. After Bulma repairs the dragon radar, she joins  him in the journey to search the four star dragon ball.

My Thoughts and Experience

Over all, just like the previous arcs, I really enjoyed this arc. This was however the very first time in the series where Goku was travelling all by himself. The opponents so far still however seem to be not much of a challenge for Goku. Goku seems to be the strongest character so far and even Jakie Chun could defeat him in the last arc only because of his strategy to take advantage of their height difference. Goku does have a weakness in the form of his tail, I am not too sure if he will somehow permanently get rid of his tail to overcome this weakness or if he is going to let it be. Colonel Silver seemed a bit overconfident that lead to his loss against Goku. I did liked the fact that after learning of Colonel Silver by the hands of  Goku, General White accepted that he doesn't stand a chance against Goku in a fair fact and therefore took unfair means in order to defeat him which was a smart move(even though he ultimately got defeated by Goku anyways). Bulma's reappearance was not that surprising to me however Bulma joining Goku in his journey was a bit surprising. This was overall a decent arc, however I did enjoyed the Tournament arc much more that this one. I will therefore give this arc a rating of 8 on 10.
